1. Reply to this post and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.
5. I can't promise to pick in a timely manner, but I will do my best.

What ghost_light picked for me:

I found this one while pregnant with Elli and Gwen and loved it for pregnancy posts. It just shows a pregnant body in a really cool way.

So one day I realized that Chez Geek cards make damn perfect icons. So I scanned a bunch. I choose this one for those time when you really need to pig out....or I'm talking about food.

Meme Icon. I am a sheep sometimes.

This is a new one, I just uploaded it. Zombie pic. I could of totally used this for a post I made last Saturday after having a grand total of 2 hours of sleep. Sometimes you just feel like you are shuffling around.

Joe's license plate. For those times when I want to bitch about his car. Probably not the best icon to have as it helps track us down/privacy thing...but WTF. Oh. And it's not Pounds per Square Inch....its the roman alphabet equivalent for the greek letter Psi (pronounced PeCee) and the Psi*Psi is some physics equation that is a constant (I think)

Post a comment, and I will comment with one or two reasons why I think you're great. In return, you have to post this same meme on your blog and comment for other people.

Ganked from psi_star_psi

Great big list of books supposedly picked by the BBC thinking most people have only read 6 on the list. I've gotten through 33. Less than [livejournal.com profile] allanh , but one more than Joe. Go me!

Or a proto meme. [livejournal.com profile] allanh  mentioned that people have been memeing "What would you do if you won the lottery?" question.

I like this day dream, so what the hell, I'll write it down.

1. Pay off house.
2. Buy Joe new car.
3. Fully fund retirement funds for us, kids, parents.
4. Throw party.
6. Plan year long trip around the world
7. Live comfortably on rest
8. Give lots of it away.

Note I did not say "College fund". Why? I believe that children only value the things they have to work for. Whether or not we ever hit the lottery, the only thing of my childrens college education that I plan on paying for is their room and board. They will have to come up with reg fees, book money, beer money, etc. Maybe its harsh. But I saw too many people in college pissing their opportunity away 'cause Mommy and Daddy were paying for everything. Those of us who had to scramble took it seriously and got good grades. And for the most part succeeded.

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask about anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, if there's anything you've ever wondered or been curious about or meant to ask me, etc. Re-post this in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.

"What were the five most memorable moments for you in 2009? Happy, sad, weird - moments that stuck in your mind and flash by when you think of the year."

1. First and always first for 2009, the birth of Grayson. He has added so much to my life. I am so blessed and grateful to be his mommy.
2. Disneyland with the kids (check out Joe's blog for details)  We actually had a good time!
3. This is the year I decided to truly take my children's education into my own hands and decided to homeschool. And similar in that vein, the discovery of Waldorf Education
4. "Mommy! Santa's been here!!!!!!Can we get up to open presents!!!!!!" "Ike, its 2:21, in the morning, go back to bed"
5. Celebrating 11 years of marriage to Joe. Best decision I ever made.

Instructions: Fill this out about your SENIOR year of high school!

1. Did you date someone from your school?
Are you kidding? I was too socially and psychologically messed up.

2. Did you marry someone from your high school?
No...I did better. I married a Techer

3. Did you car pool to school?
My "friends" didn't want to go out of their way to pick me up and save me the indignity of riding the public bus.

4. What kind of car did you have?
When I drove, I got my mom's car...I think it was an Escort back then.

5. What kind of car do you have now?
Mini-van....gotta transport 3 (soon 4) kids.

6. Its Friday night...where are you now?
Out with friends. In with friends. Having a good meal somewhere. Enjoying a quiet drink prior to a busy and fun Saturday.

7. It is Friday night..where were you then?
Depended on the time of year. It it was fall...I was at the Football game. Rest of the year I was at work...or doing something for an upcoming show.

8. What kind of job did you have in high school?
Worked at the fabric store

9. What kind of job do you do now?
I'm a librarian!

10. Were you a party animal?
I never got invited to parties.

11. Were you considered a flirt?
Yea right.

12. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Drama club count?

13. Were you a nerd?
Outcast is a better term for it

14. Did you get suspended or expelled?
Never, I had too much invested in being at that school. One flunked class and my Mom would have pulled me out.

15. Can you sing the fight song?
Its an all girls school...there is no fight song. But I can still sing the school song.

16. Who was/were your favorite teacher?
Mrs. Gannon-Briggs was awesome. A former nun with 4 kids and a wicked sense of humor.

17. Where did you sit during lunch?
With the Drama geeks in the theatre.

18. What was your school's full name?
Carondelet High School. Fabulous school. Awesome academic experience...the rest sucked.

19. When did you graduate?

20. What was your school mascot?

21. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
Ah. No. I'd rather do college again. That was a lot more fun.

22. Did you have fun at Prom?
I did! I asked a dozen different guys to go with me and I got shot down by all of them. One of my co-workers was a year older than me and I took her. We went bar hopping in San Francisco afterwards.

23. Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with?
Nope, lost contact after leaving for college.

24. Are you planning on going to your next reunion?
Maybe...its over a year from now.

25. Do you still talk to people from school?
One person over the years, but now that I've gotten hooked up on Facebook, I'm talking to a lot more...mostly kids not from my class...but the drama geeks.

26. What are/were your school's colors?
Back then Red & Gold. At some point in the last 20 years they changed it to Red & White. I think it was to match the boys school's (across the street) colors of Green & White. Its actually one school...but girls get one diploma and boys get a different one. I didn't take one class at the girls school my senior year...I took them all across the street at the guys school.

Icon Meme!

I created a new icon just for this meme.

* reply to this post with the word MEME and I will pick six of your icons.
* make a post (including this info if you want) and talk about the icons I chose.
* other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
* this will create a never ending cycle of icon glee.

This is a close up of the tattoo on my left shoulder. Taken by [livejournal.com profile] kineticphoenix 's ex-husband...who has an LJ here...but I don't remember his user name. Its my first ink and I did it because I turned 30.

This one I swiped off of [livejournal.com profile] nerfduck 's LJ...I mean...c'mon. Its a big ass rubber duck...how can it not be cool?

Okay, Carlos Mencia. A very rude, irreverant, definitely not- PC comedian. Reminds me of George Carlin. He uses the phrase "Dee Dee Dee" instead of retard or some other not tolerated phrase. Extremely useful when making comments about my work and idiots I work with.

My license plate. Means One More Stitch. Which is something Joe used to hear a lot of, the kids hear on occasionally, and the people at the gym hear all the time. I'm in the groove with my stitchin'.

Ahhh. 742. Many, many years ago, while a young, impressionable co-ed at UC Davis. I was a bus driver. The elite bus drivers were the ones who were on the Double Deck list. I drove this bus. I loved driving the Double Decks. It was an awful lot of fun. This is an RT. The quirk about this particular bus (all of the Double Decks had some weird quirk about driving them) is that you literally had to pop the clutch in order to get it to shift into the next gear.

This is a close up shot of a scissors fob I stitched earlier this year. I use this for when I talk about stitching. I have a shot of a different piece of work that I used to use...but it was bigger, and I took it before I learned the joy of the macro setting (I think, its the flower icon) on my digital camera. Besides, there's a dragon in the upper right corner. Its cute!

The Meme: As evidenced by Katie Couric, Sarah Palin is unable to name any Supreme Court Case other than Roe v. Wade.

The Rules: Post info about ONE Supreme Court decision, modern or historic, to your lj. (Any decision, as long as it's not Roe v. Wade.) For those who see this on your f-list, take the meme to your OWN lj to spread the fun.

[personal profile] liralen cited Loving v. Virginia.
[livejournal.com profile] ross_teneyck  cited Brown v. Board of Education.

I'll cite Bush v. Gore
