Best line from my OB ever

I love my OB. She flat out tells it like it is. No bullshit, no beating the bush. (Okay, and she's pretty hot too, ask Joe)

Anyway.

I had my monthly appt with her yesterday. After the usual blather of a check up, she looked at my chart, looked at me and said

"I see you are still losing weight."
"Yea, according to my scale at home, I'm down 14 lbs total."
She then gives me this withering look
"Jen, this is not the time to be playing America's Biggest Loser. You are not supposed to be trying to lose weight."

This made me laugh. I assured her that the calories are in-flowing, I'm just not eating as much, as I'm getting full fast, and I'm still exercising most days of the week. She was satisfied with that answer.

Other than that, she kicked me out for being obscenely healthy.

Yay for being obscenely healthy! I always did the same while preggo. It's hard to pack on the pounds when all you crave is fruit. I always ended up thinner after birth then I did when I started. Course I gain the weight right back while breastfeeding. Che Sera.

I crave chocolate and red meat. Go figure. My metabolism just shoots up. I love that instant after birth weight loss. I think I lost 60 lbs during the first 6 weeks after the twins. And then, I put it all back on in the ensuing 6 months or so. *sigh* I'm hoping I won't do that this time. I have a few more things in my arsenal of coping.

I lost 25 after Elliott and gained back 35. I lost 40 immediately after my twins, only put on 30 this time so I'm back to where I was when I conceived El. I ate 3 eggs every day for 18 months (I couldn't look an an egg for months after each kid was born. I just had the small capacity high metabolism like you. I think its pretty common among us big women.

Keep up the good work!
