I could just cry

I just discovered that Elli and Gwen defaced every piece of Gray's wood train set (We've invested a lot in track...and its not the cheap stuff. I bought quality so it would last a generation or two). They wrote one of their initials on every stinkin' piece. Gwen's won't be too hard to remove...but Elli used a dry erase marker.

Oh nooooooo!

There's a product we used to use in the library to remove graffiti. It's call This Stuff Works (no kidding) and I've been shocked to see how well it worked on things like Sharpie marker on wood tabletops and glass.

Just be sure to read the directions... you need to spray with water to deactivate the stuff. We didn't do that for the longest time and ruined more than one tabletop. :-(

I'll keep that in mind...but I just found 100 grit sandpaper works well too...and smooths out the surface and improved the texture.

Ugh. I'm sorry that happened, but glad that it sounds like you've made some progress cleaning it off. I hope it all cleans up like new for you.

If there's an anon comment, that's likely me. LJ decided to log me out for some random reason. Anyway, I'm sorry for what happened but glad that it sounds like you've been able to clean some it up :)
