The hot tub is now open for the season!

And it is wonderful. I have to keep the bloody thing cooler than I'd normally like (99-100), but the little passenger demands cooler temps. At least I can still use the fabulous, awesome, and just fucking amazing jets. In the deep captains chair 4 jets hit my lower back. I am so loving this.

And I am so laboring in this tub. I might not climb out to give birth. I might just say. "Fuck it, call an ambulance, let 'em catch it here!"

You sleep there, right? Because I don't honestly know why you'd need a hot tub AND a bed. I'd sleep there. Fell asleep in my bath the other day, so it would be no transition at all.

I can't turn the heat up enough where that would be feasible...although I love the idea!

Several years ago in my small town a woman was in labor in hot tub with midwife in attendance. Suddenly the woman says, "Oh!" and a baby floats to the surface just as if she were a little water lily come up to bud in the sunshine.

What a great visual!

I love the idea of a tub birth. But our hospital only has 1 tub in the entire L&D area...and I'm not willing to drive to the other hospital, just for that.
