American Girl
Nov. 23rd, 2005 01:27 pmNow I remember when these dolls/books came out. I was still young enough to want one. (I collected dolls thru HS and College) But in the past few years I grew to understand what a digusting Money Making Machine American Girl really is. I think Allan refers to it as "girl crack" (apologies if I am wrong) and I resolved to never give these folks money if I could help it. (Reminds me of my aunt banning barbies in her house. We all bought barbie crap for my cousins every chance we got)
On Nov 14, Newsweek had an article about American Girl Inc. Basically the neocon assholes were calling for a boycott of the company because they dared to suppport Girls Inc
Now I'm in a quandry. I hate American Girl. But I'm (usually) pleased to help anyone that the Neocons hate. I just threw some money at a Planned Parenthood in PA 'cause I liked their fundraiser. (See this entry for details) So now I find myself looking at the American Girl website trying to decide which dolls to buy my 3 m.o. daughters.
