Fire day

I was outside playing with the kids today for most of the afternoon. Between 4 & 5 I noticed that it was getting hazy, and the sunlight was turning orange....it felt more like fall sunlight, than height of summer sunlight. By 7 it looked like this

This is also from our backyard looking north. We closed up the house and cranked on the A/C right after (before?) I took these...with that much crap in the air, I didn't want to trigger an asthma attack. allanh and his lovely husband Randy came over for dinner and told us the fire was somewhere close to the 9 in the Santa Cruz Mountains.  At least we don't have to worry about the fire reaching us...but the sky looks AWFUL.

The promised pictures

So here's some of the pictures I promised.

I showed a picture of Monsterbubbles "Blah" when I finished stitching it, now here's a pic of it in its final form



I also finished Flower Sprinkles Biscornu...its my first one and I'm surprised it came together so easily.



And lastly I finished a project I bought at the Stitching Festival in 2003. It was the official project. What you can't see is that its mounted on a very nice wooden box. (That picture didn't come out and I'm too lazy to snap another at this time of night, and it probably wouldn't come out well anyway.) I think its also my first official Bargello piece. It was fun.
