Anybody have an idea?

So my MP3 player got put in water. Not totally in water (okay, tea with cream and sugar), but enough that the junction point got wet. I dried it off as best as I could, and its playing lectures well, but its not responding to my computer when I plug it in. And its not recharging. Is the patient dead?  Do I need a get a new one? Granted its not expensive, but still. I like this one.
