Really interesting book. There are LOTS of ways of preserving food. Some I knew about (i.e. lacto-fermentation) some I didn't know I knew (i.e. wine, vinegar) and some I had no clue (digging cold shelters). Lots of instruction and recipes. Could be really useful for those Homesteader types...or those apocalyptic types.
75. God and You by William A. Barry S.J.
Short little Jesuit book about the relationship with God through prayer. Short and sweet. I liked it. Gave me a few things to think about.
76. The Woman Awake by Sara Regina Ryan
Another book by the Keynote speaker who wrote "Praying Dangerously". She looks at 12 different ways of approaching God in the feminine and profiles 2 women (contemporary or historical) who embody that particular approach. My favorite because it was really interesting was the chapter on sexuality. One woman was a practioner of Tantra...the other? A Roman Catholic nun. LOTS of good stuff in here to think about...and lots of interesting biographies too.
77. The book of Fairy Princes by Isabel Wyatt
Most Fairy Tales are all about the Princesses. This is a book about the trials and tribulations of the Princes. Good stories for a wide audience.
78. Bedtime Storytelling: A collection for Parents by Beatrys Lockie
I just picked this one up over the weekend. Its a collection of easy to memorize stories for parents to tell, not read, to their children. Divided by age groups. Lucky me, I get to memorize them all. =)
79. My Little Golden Book about God by Jane Watson
Cute little book for kids who ask "Who's God?" I've been reading it the last few nights to the kids...it seems to be sinking in a bit.
80. Raggedy Ann by Johnny Gruelle
Ha! Finally finished this one. The first book of stories about America's Favorite Rag doll. It only took 2 months to get through this book. We start the second tomorrow.
81. The Princess and the White Bear King by Tanya Robyn Batt
AWESOME story! Its a mash-up of several fairy tales told in one cohesive story. The illustrations are beautiful, the CD along with it is awesome for the car and the kids LOVE this story. Its everything you expect from a Barefoot Book.
