I was so not surprised to find that Julius had written a John Henry book. As usual the words are wonderful and the illustrations are beautiful too.
130.Molly Pitcher: Heroine by Eileen Bertanzetti
Basic juvenile non-fiction book on the life of Molly Pitcher. Dry, boring, and stale. But good information, including an awesome poem.
131. They called her Molly Pitcher by Anne Rockwell
Much better! Picture book with nice illustrations and more interesting text. Not as much information, but much more engaging.

Okay, take it as read that these are very good picture books. A bit formulaic, but good nonetheless.
137. Pecos Bill by Ariane Dewey
Chapter book intended to be read independently by a newish reader. This one suffers from its age. The pictures are homely and boring. The text is stilted. Awful.
