So this morning Ike found a marker. He drew on: both highchairs, Elli, Gwen, himself, the walls, and my new kitchen cabinets.

Thankfully, it wiped up from the cabinets easily.

It will eventually clean off the bodies

Its a permanent fixture on the walls.

*sigh*

Ike also refuses to use the toilet. He's also refusing to clean up after himself after he uses his clothing as a toilet. (I figure, he knows how to use the toilet, it he chooses not to, he can clean himself up.)

All I've got to say is, Joe has some serious sucking up to do to his mom, she just giggles whenever I tell her the latest adventure. "Joe did that too!"

Denise can help; she has an array of reasonably child-proof paints to resort to ... although permanent markers are pretty tough to get off any kind of paint. Those kinds of things might best be locked up next to the guns, liquor, and chocolate.

Is the toilet thing normal for a kid his age? I honestly don't know. It's possible that he's simply expressing frustration at something, although with his improved communication skills, I don't know what it could be. Is it too early to take him to a child pshrink for an evaluation?

It is normal, unfortunately. Its a control issue. Its the only area of his life where he has absolute control. He's just trying to express it.

I have an appt on tuesday with his teacher to get some ideas.
